According to David Loiseau's blog, the UFC has terminated his contract.

Hello all, just here to keep you informed on whats going on with me. Hopefully, MY REAL FANS WILL FOLLOW ME WHEREVER I GO. The UFC recently cancelled my contract following my decision loss at UFC63. It saddens me because I felt like the UFC was my home. But I guess I'll have to find a new place to call home. Right now Im in SanDiego training with Brandon Vera and Rob Kaman. Brandon is in solid shape for his fight.Dont worry guys, I WILL come back VERY STRONG. Im extremely motivated! Stay tuned, and Ill keep yall posted on whats next for me. Dont forget about my new CROWEAR clothing line available online at http://WWW.THEFIGHTNETWORK.COM

If this news is true, then it is totally ridiculous. Is the UFC so hard up to prove my "One and Done" theory? David Loiseau is a hard fighter with some killer elbows. Yes, he is coming off 2 losses but they were hard losses. He went 5 rounds with Rich Franklin and didn't quit. He went all three rounds with Mike Swick and finally came out of his shell in the third round and poured it on, making Swick look like an amateur. With all these other MMA leagues springing up with TV contracts, the UFC should be holding onto talent with an iron grip rather than throwing it out to the wind.

UFC could be in for some hard times with the way they treat their fighters.

I agree and I hate to see it happening this way....

Is there an “official” reason given yet?

Isn’t the deal that if you lose 3 fights in a row you’re gone? Granted he lost only 2, but still I’ve seen people get bounced from the UFC for less than this.

Exactly, which is my whole beef with the UFC. With all the new league’s hitting the market (showtime, IFL, BODOG, Strikeforce, etc) Don’t you think the UFC should be hanging on to their good fighters?
