UFC Set to Explode in August

Email Article Print ArticleUFC programming for these next three months is going to be explosive, to say the least.
The Ultimate Fighter 4: The Comeback (TUF4 for short) is set to explode onto the scene August 17th at 10 PM ET. This should be the most exciting season yet.
Previously, all the TUF seasons have been non-UFC prospects fighting it out for a spot in the UFC. Some of the fights were great, some were horribly amateurish. Most of amateurish fights have been from nerves because these fighters were under a lot of pressure foreign to them. They were getting a chance to fulfill their dreams which was fighting in the UFC and a goodly amount of them choked on it.
A lot of the veterans were complaining because these amateurs were getting so much press and becoming household names and they were being forgotten. Well Dana White, the president of UFC, heard their complaints and has given them their wish.
The fourth season is filled with veteran UFC fighters who have already tasted the glory, and for one reason or the other have fallen out of the lime light. The list is PACKED with names that any Mixed Martial Arts spectator would recognize.
Charles McCarthy, Dino Thomas, Patrick Cote, Jeremy Jackson, Shonie Carter, Pete Sell, Pete Spratt, Edwin Dewees, Gideon Ray, Chris Lytle, Travis Luter, Rich Clementi, Scott Smith, Mikey Burnett, and Jorge Rivera are all the cast members on TUF4.
With that much firepower on the roster, it should REALLY REALLY be the best season yet from both a reality TV (how do these seasoned fighters think and will they get along) and a fighting perspective.
Preceeding the TUF4 season opener, we have a FREE live TV Fight Night starting at 8 PM ET August 17th. The exciting thing about the headliner in that event is that Diego “The Nightmare” Sanchez, TUF1 welterweight winner, will fight a truly good fighter in Caro Parisyan. Sanchez has been groomed for the last year for stardom and now it is his time to step it up against a true world-class fighter and show that he deserves all the media attention he has been getting. Caro is a spectacular fighter and only just recently lost against George St. Pierre, whom I consider to be #2 next to Matt Hughes.
As a side note, UFC 62 (PPV August 28th) is going to feature Bonnar Vs. Griffin 2. Their first fight on the finale of TUF1 was truly legendary and holds a special place on my PVR. Griffin has out-fought Bonnar since IMHO so I look for Griffin to dominate but who knows. Definitely worth it to visit your local sports bar and catch that fight in its entirety.
You can’t go wrong with any of these events and I am sooo looking forward to my free fix of MMA that UFC has been nice enough to proffer me.

Nice find Molen. I’m definitely looking for the UFC to step it up after that absurdly boring PPV they had last month.
Boy am I glad I didn’t spend $40 on that crap.
Yeah. I don’t know if UFC 62 is gonna be worth paying $40 for. I was never that impressed with Babalu and I think that Iceman is gonna wipe the floor with him… but it might be worth paying $5 at a bar to watch bonnar vs. Griffin though :D :D
And yes, this season of TUF should go down in history. Especially if all these vets bring their “A” game.
Awesome update on the fight game DarthMolen! I can’t wait for TUF4.
I just saw the previews for TUF4 and they look absolutely hilarious. Shoney is quite a Pimp and he even dresses like it.
I think I saw him wearing speedo’s for his practice shorts and he entered into the house in a full zoot-suit and a Pimp cup.
Definitely FTW.
