* Melendez failed to make weight for his bout with Lauzon, and upon review with the doctors of the Nevada State Athletic Commission, it was determined that in the interest of safety, Melendez would not attempt to lose the pound to get to 156. The bout will go on as scheduled, with Melendez being fined 10% of his purse (5% to the NSAC, 5% to Lauzon)
I know two people that have met Melendez in the past week and both of them say this guy is a complete waste of space. He didn’t even earn his contract with the UFC, and he couldn’t even meet the weight requirements for the TUF finale. The guy is just disrespectful all around. I hope Lauzon kicks his ass.
