Email Article Print ArticleWell, the full story comes out on B.J. Penn and his third round in UFC 63.
Seems he separated a rib. His own site got the exclusive. Barring an out-right lie, it would explain why a person who used his flexibility through two rounds to escape, couldn’t do the same from a simple crucifix position. This is definitely going to force me to go home and watch for B.J. Penn’s facial expressions closely in that round to help me determine whether this was true or not...

Ok let me break it down for you. I respect BJ Penn as a fighter. He is a hell of a fighter, and is one tough SOB to be able to go toe to toe with the likes of Matt Hughes. However in almost every interview he has about a loss he’s suffered he almost ALWAYS comes up with an excuse as to either why he lost, or that he was robbed and how he “really won the fight.”
When you enter the octagon you know you’re running the risk of breaking a bone, separating something, etc. So for him to say “I only lost because I broke my rib”...well, it’s not like it magically broke, Hughes broke it...that’s what happens.
Penn lost fair and square and should deal with it. Hughes is the REAL undisputed welterweight champ, and if Penn wants another rematch then he’s going to have to wait until Hughes runs through GSP for a second time.
As far as Im concerned, Penn lost. He WAS winning both rounds until then. But, Hughes’ run as Welterweight champ is over come him vs GSP. GSP round 3, submission.
Care to lose another bet?? Man I might just save these up and cash in on one big culmination on all the bets we’ve made. So far I’ve got 2. Maybe I’ll cash them in next time we all head out to Vegas??
But then again my audience demands pictures of you in your bikini speedo prancing around in public...I can’t let them down.
Lets put this in it’s proper perspective
- Matt Hughes just beat his nemesis in his greatest victory ever.
- He was just told by the president of the company he’s the greatest champion ever and he’s never seen anything like him.
- His dad and brother, his corner men, the middle weight champ, the heavyweight champ, the Owners of the UFC, there all in there telling Hughes he’s the best, he just beat Penn up, he’s the f’n man and so on.
- With all this Hughes still takes shots at Penn’s conditioning, so now he’s feeling even better because he not only beat his nemesis a guy he obviously does not like but is able kick him while he’s down. He’s the king of the world and he can say whatever he wants.
- And now what’s this, GSP is in the ring. Great, now Hughes gets to have more accolades showered upon him by one of the best fighters on earth.....NOPE!
- GSP stands right in his face and tells him his victory was not impressive. WOW! George doesn’t leave either, he turns righ to Matt’s man love party and takes all there angry crap as Hughes has his arm around GSP probabaly telling him what an a-hole he is and how bad he’s going to beat him. Hughes and all his gang including the towering Tim Syvia are getting in St. Pierre’s face saying god knows what and GSP is just standing there smiling.
- He probabaly didn’t like the way Matt was talking after his fight and wanted to burst his bubble a bit, he sure as hell did. He’s in Hughes’ head now, I bet Hughes and his crew spent alot of last night bitching about GSP and how he’s going to beat his ass. And you know what, deep down Hughes knows GSP is the best he’s ever faced and this time he won’t be able to fool him, he just might lose, he’s in his head. WAR GSP!
