For those of you that care out there, the NSAC (Nevada State Athletic Committee) released the medical suspensions for UFC 71 and there are a couple of fighters that are on the shelf for good bit of time.

The fighter salaries were released for UFC 71 and do not include the bonuses that might come about because of PPV’s or other specific clauses in their contract.

Memorial Day Memorable for IFL Athletes

The scene was one that seemed pretty familiar to most anyone.  It was a warm mid-spring evening and a group of maybe 300 young men and women had gathered for a fairly social evening of casual athletic competition.  On one end, with the sound of music filling the air, was a spirited whiffle ball game, while off to the side several other groups tossed around a softball and a football while chatting away the evening.

Art of War to Arrive in Las Vegas

Art of War is getting a lot of play. With a solid matchmaker in Guy Metzger, great production values, and a TV deal with HDNET, Sun and Sports Entertainment is moving and shaking in MMA. One of the big surprises is that they plan to expand outside of Texas and run in the UFC’s backyard, Las Vegas.

Gabe Ruediger to K-1

Gabe Ruediger was a joke on this season of The Ultimate Fighter. He came in almost 30 pounds overweight to a lightweight show and did not do anything to cut that weight. Eventually he was unceremoniously dumped from the series and publicly ridiculed by the president of the UFC, Dana White.

Filling a 90,000 seat stadium might not be the only thing that F.E.G. has to worry about for their first U.S. show. Loretta Hunt, from The Fight Network, reports that K-1 has not received their requisite license to promote their June 2nd Fight Card in the L.A. Coliseum.
