IFL Reno Lions Tryout Results

The IFL Reno Lions Tryouts were held yesterday on November 29th, 2006 by their coach Ken Shamrock. 150 athletes showed up to the six hour ordeal and it was quite a memorable experience for everyone involved.

I hate to sound like a one-tune band but there is sooo much news coming out about the IFL and nothing much on the UFC right now. The IFL has finally announced their FULL 2007 season. There will be other events that aren't announced but these are the regular season matches as they stand.

MMA not on PPV is definitely a good thing. Seems IFL understands that and is looking to fill that need. In fact, it is their whole business model. They have a whole season scheduled for 2007 but in the meantime, they have staged a playoff with the current teams to finish out this year.

The UFC has become the “face” of MMA to the mainstream at large here in the U.S. of A. It is a force to be reckoned with as an entertainment organization and a fighting organization. This monolith that makes up to 30 million a PPV (8-12 PPV a year) is actually owned by Zuffa Entertainment and Zuffa is owned by two people.
