So now that we’ve all got custom avatars I wanted to do something that incorporated each of the “characters” from Komikazee into on group shot. Curvezilla and I were talking about it yesterday and we came up with some pretty good ideas for which groups we could use, and who could be who. What I’m thinking is creating new FULL BODY artwork out of each of us in completely different style that I used in our avatars. I could create templates from our heads, and then just change out the bodies depending on which characters we were and what group we were in....everyone following so far?

Fantastic 4

averagejoe - Human Torch
sixstring - Mr. Fantastic
curvezilla - Thing
darth molen - Invisible Woman (sorry man)
mark allen - Moleman

Justice League

averagejoe - Superman
sixstring - Green Lantern

mark allen - Martian Manhunter

So I’m throwing this idea out there for any suggestions you guys might have. First I’ll need to make templates of each of us which could take around a week or so depending on my schedule, and then I can plan out poses and looks for each of us. I’m open to any ideas you guys might have for groups/characters to use. Ideally I’d like to get a library of bodies/poses for each of us that I can just change costumes on....sorta like what I do with my own avatar. I’ve got the template so when I want to change the character I’ve got it down anywhere from 5min and up.

Haha thanks for the suggestion, but right now I’m only sticking to admins. These are going to be pretty time consuming so for now I’m going to do only the necessary ones. Maybe someday you’ll get one....

Here’s a QUICK sketch I did of myself as Superman for the Justice League shot. I wanted to go a little more stylized and in a different direction with these ones. My logic is that if I create a basic head template, I can just switch out hair color, expressions...etc and slap it on a new body rather than starting from scratch each time.

Hey, I wanna be Jimmy Neutron!

Ok so after about 15+ sketches in various styles, I think I FINALLY found the one I want to go with for our group shots. I am a BIG fan of Jeff Matsuda and his work on Jackie Chan Adventures and The Batman, so while browsing his site today I thought “hey wait a minute....” I decided to see if I could incorporate Jeff’s style into what I was trying to achieve, and after sketching out the attached picture I knew I had found the style.

The attached file is a head sketch of me in Jeff’s style. I am working on the colors and I will post the finished version as soon as I am finished (shouldn’t take too long). I’m interested in hearing what you guys have to say about this newest one.

Just experimenting with head shots for now to make sure I can translate these characters into the style I wanted to use. I think I’m going to do the Fantastic 4 as the first group shot. I’m going to start to do the other Komikazee guys now that I’ve nailed down the style. I’ll post my sketches/finished versions as I get them done.
