The champ talks about his upcoming rematch/title defense with BJ Penn.
“Juicebox" pointed us over to UFC.com where current UFC Welterweight champ Matt Hughes talks about his upcoming rematch with BJ Penn at UFC 63 coming from the Arrowhead Pond of Anaheim this Saturday 9/23.
Hughes lost to Penn via submission at UFC 46 on 1/31/2004. Since that loss Hughes has come back and not only reclaimed his welterweight title, but he’s dominated every opponent he’s faced including UFC hall of famer Royce Gracie who Hughes fought at UFC 60 in May.
Originally Hughes was set to defend his title against George St. Pierre who beat BJ Penn for the right to fight for the title, however Pierre had to pull out at the last minute due to a groin injury.
