UFC Junkie reports that former UFC Middleweight Champion Evan Tanner has been offered the chance to make his return to the UFC and fight Dean “The Boogeyman” Lister at UFC 79 in December.
After his victory over Justin Levens at UFC 59 Tanner has seemingly disappeared completely from the world of MMA. It’s been nearly 17 months since his last professional fight.
UFC 79 will take place on 12/29 with the main event featuring a welterweight fight between the coaches of The Ultimate Fighter 6, current UFC Champion Matt Serra, and Matt Hughes. Wanderlei Silva is also expected to make his octagon return on the card, possibly against Chuck Liddell if he can get past Keith Jardine at UFC 76 later this month.
