UFC 74 Injury and Drug Report

by: DarthMolen

The NSAC has released their injury and drug reports. 10 out of the 18 fighters were tested and they all came up clean for performance enhancing drugs. The commission is still waiting on drugs of abuse to come back, such as marijuana, because this takes more time. Read on for the injury details.

  • Gabriel Gonzaga has a broken nose and cannot compete until 2/22/2008 unless cleared by an ENT (ear-nose-throat doctor)
  • Alberto Crane had a right medial orbital fracture and cannot fight until 2/22/2008 unless cleared by an opthalmologist. These fractures usually occur from direct blows to the eye or eye socket.
  • Joe Stevenson has a broken nose and can’t fight until 2/22/2008 unless cleared by ENT
  • Antoni Hardonk has something wrong with his shoulder and can’t fight until 2/22/2008 unless cleared by a doctor

The fight that everybody is up in arms about, the Renato Sobral v David Heath where Renato held the choke 3 seconds longer than necessary, there are no medical repercussions for David listed on the report.

Also, did you know that Frank Mir is really Fransisco Santos Mir III? How about Randy Duane Couture? Also, the only fighters with residence listed outside the U.S. are Antoni Barend Hardonk (Weesp, Netherlands) and GSP (St. Isidore, Quebec, Canada).
