TAGG Radio has broken the news that Jens Pulver will be fighting Cub Swanson in the WEC for his next fight.
Jens Pulver is an ex-UFC lightweight champion and is coming off back-to-back losses against Joe Lauzon and B.J. Penn. After his loss to “The Prodigy” he stated that he wasn’t retiring but moving to the the WEC 145 lb. division.
Cub Swanson is an up and coming talent for the WEC with two consecutive wins against Micah Miller and Tommy Lee. Cub goes on to state, “I was given a choice to fight Pulver or Mark Hominick and I chose the first,” says Swanson. “If I train hard and stick to my game plan, I can win this.”
This is just the latest move in an effort by Zuffa to make the WEC’s lineup have more star power. Paulo Fihlo is yet another grade “a” star that will be fighting in the WEC instead of the UFC.
