The L.A. Times reports that Quinton “Rampage” Jackson inks a 4 fight deal with the UFC and signs up to fight Liddell at UFC 71.
For awhile now Quinton’s camp has been stating that he needs time to ramp up to Liddell but apparently that “time” could be bought with money.
Quinton’s manager went on to say, “Our plan was to get more exposure in the UFC so the American public would become more familiar with Rampage, but don’t get me wrong … with Rampage’s ability, he knows how to handle this,” Juanito Ibarra, Jackson’s manager/trainer said. “Chuck Liddell is a fight we’re ready for.”
Lots of other goodness in the L.A. Times story besides just that. Apparently Chuck had to be subjected to a drug test by the NSAC after the Texas Debacle and Dana White had to order him off the promotion campaign. Liddell basically stated that he took Lunesta and a shot of Nyquil and only had 3 hours of sleep instead of 8.
