MMA comes to MSNBC in the form of the program “Warrior Nation”.

"Warrior Nation" is a 4 part mini-series that follows the lives of various fighters and what they do to prepare for the grueling sport of MMA. Here is what the MSNBC site says about the future min-series.

"'Warrior Nation' is not just about fighting," says Long-Form Programming Vice President Michael Rubin, "it's about a quickly growing American phenomenon; the millions of fans and tens of thousands of young athletes who gravitate to this new sport, hoping to springboard from obscurity to celebrity, using the most basic of tools--their bodies and fists."

The series will broadcast on consecutive Tuesdays starting January 9th. at 10 P.M. Eastern Time. The interesting thing is that the series will even feature some women MMA athletes. Here is the schedule and participants:

  • Jan. 9th - Urijah Faber and Enoch Wilson
  • Jan. 16th - Erin Toughill and Clark Bevans
  • Jan. 23rd - Gina Carrano and Elaina Maxwell
  • Jan. 30th - Steve Byrnes and Logan Clark, Liddell and Ortiz
