Komikazee had the opportunity to interview Don Frye, MMA Legend and IFL Coach, at Wizard World Dallas and I have to say it was an entertaining interview.
Don Frye is a MMA Legend, IFL coach of the future Scorpions, and excellent wrestler / boxer / submission specialist. He has won his last three K-1 Hero appearances. He is also a coach in the IFL and his team, the Tucson Scorpions, will be a part of the first full IFL season in 2007.
I had the opportunity to attend his seminar and it was extremely informative. He had a zest and skill for fighting that bled through to his instruction. He is a hands on kind of guy and, even though his arm was in a soft cast, Don was constantly demonstrating the submission moves he was teaching us with Shane Johnson. He was also a great teacher and knew how to break down the complex grappling and submission attempts into easy-to-digest steps.
More importantly, the conversation I had with him was very engaging and I thoroughly enjoyed talking with the man.
Look for his Scorpions in 2007 to make a splash and here's hoping his elbow heals right so that he can continue to fight.
